2014 Alpine Farm Biosecurity Protocol
Alpine Horse Shows 2014 Biosecurity Protocol (Updated 6/1/2014)Alpine Horse Shows strives to provide the safest environment possible for all exhibitors, both equine and human, to enjoy their horse show experience. In order for Alpine Horse Shows to offer horse shows that protect the welfare and safety of everyone involved there are protocols that must be enforced at any equestrian event during 2014 1. A Current (within 12 months of arrival on the show grounds) negative Coggins test is required for all animals entering the show grounds. 2. A Health Certificate must be signed by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days prior to arriving at the show ground. The Health Certificate should include a statement that each horse has been vaccinated against Equine Influenza and Equine Herpes Virus 1 & 4 (Flu/Rhino vaccine) within 90 days of each show. 3. A Show Participation Health Declaration signed by the owner/trainer/agent that each horse has been healthy with no sign of infectious disease and has had its temperature taken daily for at least 3 days prior to arrival, and has not had a fever above 102 degrees F within 72 hours of arrival. A SEPARATE such form must be filled out and be on file for each show… NO EXCEPTIONS. 4. ALL HORSES AND PONIES ON THE SHOW GROUNDS MUST BE ENTERED IN THE SHOW OFFICE IMMEDIATELY UPON ARRIVAL, NO MATTER WHEN YOU BEGIN TO SCHOOL OR COMPETE. BRINGING A HORSE OR PONY ONTO THE SHOW GROUNDS FOR SCHOOLING AND NOT ENTERING THAT ANIMAL ON AN OFFICAL ENTRY BLANK IS PROHIBITED. NO EXCEPTIONS. 5. Non-Stabling Horses must check in upon arrival each day. 6. Any horse exhibiting any signs of illness must be reported to the management of Alpine Horse Shows and to the show veterinarian.
